People try to balance arguments about the strangest things – upsetting hackers.

Is it just me? The article below contains a couple of counter-arguments in an attempt to balance the rights of hackers against the attempts by GCHQ to disrupt their activities. For example:

“Legally, we enter a very grey area here; where members of Lulzsec were arrested and incarcerated for carrying out DoS attacks, but it seems that JTRIG are taking the same approach with impunity.”

Uh? Could I also say terrorists use guns and are imprisoned for doing so, so we must imprision members of our armed forces for using guns against them?

Really, am I missing something here? It seems these days people have this irresistible need to make sure balance is always shown to be applied in any argument, however daft it sounds logically. We mustn’t upset the sensitive hackers now should we!!!
